Saying Goodbye to Northern Sulawesi, Indonesia

After two weeks of walking barefoot or with flip flops, it feels so strange to put on shoes and socks again, in order to fly.

While in Sulawesi, I wore a bathing suit and a beach shirt every morning.
After diving, I showered and changed into a beach dress.
I ate lunch and lounged around in my loose beach dress, and by evening time, I changed into a casual black dress.
This was my routine every day.
Now, as we are leaving Indonesia, it feels so strange to put on pants, a sweatshirt, and to lace up shoes.

It is hot and humid on the islands, with a salty, breezy air and a blue sea that stretches as far as the eyes can see.
Now it is time for a new adventure, and I must say that I am a bit sad to be leaving.

Life is simple on the islands.
People are simple, too.
Simple is wonderful.

People here do not worry about healthcare, insurance, investments, or Medicare.
They worry about what to eat for lunch, or where to go diving.
I like these kinds of worries.
I will miss the simplicity of uncomplicated days where nothing great gets achieved, yet the sun still shines and the sunsets over the volcanos are still red...
I like accomplishing nothing...
I like just being, breathing, and looking at the fish...

As we leave Indonesia, I am posting my final set of photos from my last Bunaken dives.
I have said my goodbyes to the fish in the sea, and now I am blessing this place with all my heart.
Tali
